By consolidating much of the data collected along the St. Lawrence over the past 30 or so years in a structured and standardized georeferenced database, the Biodiversity Portrait of the St. Lawrence partly overcomes the knowledge gap that prevented us from having a general picture of the richness and structure of the living components of this vast river system. Lists of all the species recorded in each 10 km ´ 10 km square may be obtained from the documents cited in the bibliography.
